A lot of stereotypical representations inevitably make their way onto young readers’ bookshelves. Elizabeth Rhodes’ Feminism is for Boys challenges near ubiquitous gender stereotypes by providing an accessible introduction to feminism.
The first page proudly declares: “Feminism is for Everyone… Including Boys!” Bright images of children with many different complexions shatter gender stereotypes and permit boys to feel all their emotions and experience life to the fullest.
Feminism is for Boys is the perfect gift for the very young children in your life. At four-years-old my child is too old for this one, but I would have loved to have it around when he was a baby and young toddler! I’m so glad we’re seeing more diversity in board books. Rhodes makes an important contribution to children’s literature. This is one of what remains a small handful of righteous children’s board books!
Feminism is for Boys is available for pre-order now and is scheduled for release March 5!
